A Change in Perspective

Remember the story of David and Goliath? Goliath was one man who intimidated an entire army because of his size. Goliath who was struck down by a young boy called David who had no formal training in combat. The experience David had in fighting was in defeating wild animals that threatened to harm his flock.

The armies saw a big man who could destroy them but David’s perspective was different. He magnified the presence of God and knew that Goliath was not intimidating at all. Everyone thought he was too small, too inexperienced to defeat this experienced warrior. But, David recalled the victories he had in private and knew that if God delivered him from those threats He will surely have victory here. As a result, David defied the odds and slayed the giant.

What are these things in your life that appear as threats? What are these enemies to progress? What are these issues that steal your peace and joy? What brings fear in your life?

These are the Goliath’s that keep us bound. Often times, we see the giant standing in front of us instead of focusing on the God who can deliver us from the hand of the giant. David’s perspective was driven by faith in God.

He knew that God is bigger than any situation that brings fear in your life. David did not need fancy equipment. All he needed was a rock in his hand which was turned into a lethal weapon. God can use you with what you have and bring victory no matter how intimidating the situation may seem. All you need to do is trust Him, let Him use you knowing that you are not alone and that God is with you.

Change your perspective see the giant fall.
